  1. Great to see you drawing through with some 3D forms! I can see improvement in just the past few studies. If you don't mind a small suggestion, try looking at a thumbnail of your ref and squinting. Look at the general shape of the torso and sketch just the major shape, then do the same with the lower back/pelvis. Always check how the body makes negative shapes in on itself to see how parts are relating :) I feel this always helps me keep proper shape overall before I get too hung up on details ;)

  2. Thanks!
Negative space is something I completely forgot about haha

I always feel overwhelmed when I start to sketch out a pose. I have no idea where to start, or how to really start going about it.
Half of the time, I start with the head, and the other half I start from the feet and work up x_x

I need to figure out a plan of attack, and stop being such a pansy.

  3. Feet (and hands) are always larger than you think they are. Anime girls have small feet - real people don't. Those feet need to hold up the rest of the body, remember!

  4. I really need to work on proportion in general.
The biggest issue with it seems to be the head in general for me.
I'm horrible with facial features. The positioning and proportions always trip me up for some reason...

  5. Think of it this way - the more you leave off the face and head, you will eventually run into the problem where you have great bodies but really wonky faces - then you'll be even more frustrated. That happened (still happens) to me.

  6. Yeah x_x
I'm planning to work on faces separately.
    Do some headshots and whatnot.

At least with those, I can be my own model (:
